Winter Wonderland and Crafty Secrets Challenge
Look at what I woke up to this morning! December 1st and our first accumulation of snow! This was taken out of our sunroom window, so I have no idea how deep it is. It certainly is beautiful to look at and wonderful I don't have to drive in it, but now I *have* to worry about my loved ones driving in it. We are supposed to get a few more inches today but right now it's not snowing.
Vicki, our fearless Crafty Secrets team leader, gave the design team their last challenge for 2008! We were to come up with something using either of our two new Christmas released sets. Too hard to chose, so I did a card with both.
I used the Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps Snow Bunnies for this card. There are just too many cute bunnies here to resist. I stamped the image in VersaFine Sepia (thanks, Joyce!) and colored them with my Copic Markers. I added snow at the bottom and under the sled and then used my Stickles to make it glisten. I'm still using up paper scraps and these are from last years Basic Grey Christmas line. I added the strips of aqua rick rack where the seams are and it adds a little punch of color. The sentiment is from this set and is so cute since it is two separate stamps. The "Sliding By to Say" is one and then there are numerous others that you could use. Great idea!! I added the Dew Drops because I like them! The polka dot paper at the top reminded me of snowflakes and then I added some sparkley snowflakes that were punched using Martha Stewart's snowflake punch from Michaels that I attached with brads.
This card is using the new CS Clear Art Stamp Set Christmas Joy. I love the ornaments in this set and how you can change the designs in the center of them. This one is stamped in VersaFine Sepia and colored with my Copics. The whole ornament is covered in a thick coat of SU's Glossy Accents to make it shine. The picture didn't capture any of that though. Again scraps were used for the background and Nestabilities scalloped oval. The ribbon on top of the ornament is also part of the set and I stamped it on shimmery paper and then colored it with my Copics to go along with the background. I added a piece of gold ribbon at the pieced line and tucked in a couple of pieces of pine trim from another of Martha's punches. I added 3 golden pearls. The word JOY is is also from the set and fit perfectly in that sage green strip.
Thanks, Vicki, for the fun challenge. Make sure you stop by the other team member's blogs to see what they came up with. Thanks for stopping by.

WOW, on the snow, it is so pretty to look at, but what a driving nightmare! My morning was not so pretty, I had a stomach flu bug all night last night. UGH.......I'm coming alive a little now. (is that too much info, LOL)

Oh, my! Doesn't the snow make everything beautiful! We get so excited with the littlest bit of snow here. I wouldn't want to go out for work in it every day, but it sure does make the cocoa taste better, KWIM? Both of your cards are just wonderful! Both images are delightfully vintage in different ways. Now you've got me coveting that snowflake punch! Martha sells out pretty fast at our Wal-Mart. Always gone by the time I get there, darn it!
