Crafty Secrets DT Challenge
Vicki Chrisman, our Crafty Secrets design team leader, enlisted us in another challenge. We were to use Crafty Secrets Clear Stamps Support the Girls set since this is breast cancer awareness month. Sandy, CS owner, is donating $1 from each set sold to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which was formerly the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
My DH thinks this is too busy but I felt I needed to incorporate everything I wanted. What do men know, anyhow? This is a long card that fits into a business envelope. I used a sheet from the CS Classic Paper Pad and a page from the CS Girlfriends Images & Journal Notebook. I kept the journal portion attached to the image. The round shape, pink ribbon and words are all from the "Support the Girls" set. I used a Nestabilities circle to cut out "In the Pink" and mounted it on a dimensional. I cut out the pink ribbon shape and mounted it also on dimensionals and then covered it with cotton candy Stickles. I cut out the flower from the opposite end of the paper and mounted it with dimensionals. I went around the entire perimeter of the paper before I mounted it to the cardstock with Ranger Distress Ink in Tattered Rose. The ribbon is from The Ribbon Jar and feels like Ultrasuede but not as heavy.
Click on this picture to see the sweet image larger. I love it!!
I also decided to create a breast cancer journal. It is a great way to document your journey through your ordeal. I had purchased this little journal from Target and it already had the pink along the coil side. I added a piece of paper from the CS Radiant Paper Pad and stamped words from the CS Clear Arts Stamps Mini Messages set. I tied the ribbon at the edge of the paper and added a little pink ribbon charm.
Below are some more images from the journal. You can see them larger by just by clicking on the picture.
This is the inside front cover. I stamped this from the CS Support the Girls set also and the word "Remember" underneath is from the CS Mini Memories set.
This is the inside back cover. This stamp is called "Cancer is so Limited" from Cornish Heritage Farms and reminded me of a sign that I saw whenever I went to the oncology center where I had my chemo and radiation. It is so true!
The back of the journal is the like the front...same paper and words stamped on it.
Stop by the other design team members' blogs to see what they came up with for the challenge. I know they will all be lovely!
